Actor, comedian and writer Nick Offerman will be the closing keynote speaker at September’s Content Marketing World 2015 in Cleveland. The fifth-annual conference, the largest of its kind in the world, is expected to draw more than 3,500 content marketing professionals this year.
Offerman is perhaps best known for his role on NBC’s “Parks and Recreation,” where he played the grizzly parks director Ron Swanson. Offerman is also a bestselling author, improv comic, stage actor and accomplished woodworker. His hilarious and often heartwarming stand-up and books demonstrate his skilled storytelling ability, a process he’ll share with attendees. He will also discuss how brands should present their content—likely in his famous deadpan style.
Joining Offerman as a keynote speaker is Oscar-nominated actor and business motivator John Cleese, of Monty Python fame. Rock band Barenaked Ladies will also perform opening night. Content Marketing World planners like to invite creative, quirky speakers to headline the conference. Past speakers include Kevin Spacey, Kevin Smith and William Shatner, all of whom can certainly speak to crafting a unique voice.
The conference is the brainchild of the Content Marketing Institute, a Cleveland-based organization working to advance the practice of content marketing across all industries. Speakers like Offerman and Cleese are entertaining and effective embodiments of the organization’s focus on using compelling storytelling to attract and retain customers.
